Just sitting here holding back tears as I realize my baby girl will be ONE. This year has gone by too fast (now that we are out of the colic phase). It’s true what they say “the days are long and the years are short”. Although most of Sage’s toys are hand-me-downs from her brother, I want to be sure to make a big deal of her special day and spoil her a bit. Selfishly, I view my kids birthdays as an important day that I created so I can justify going a bit overboard with a party and gifts. The theme for Sage’s birthday party is “Donut Grow Up”. Who doesn’t love donuts? I thought it was a colorful, delicious theme that would be fun for all.
And what is a kid’s birthday party without all the fun gifts?! As sage is my first girl, I am excited to indulge in all the glam girlie gifts. I always make an Amazon wishlist for my kids birthday requests.
Here is my round up of birthday gifts for my sweet princess:
Bows: How could this not be on Sage’s gift list?! I love the Baby Bling Bows. They are soft and stay put. Little Miss has hair that can’t be tamed and these bows really help to take her hair from “bedhead” to photoshoot ready.
Bowl: I came across this line of stay put bowls and plates for littles when my Cruz was about a year old. As long as you have a flat, even surface, these will stay in place and little hands won’t be able to dump/toss their plate/bowl off the table. I am loving this ezpz bowl. I like to toss an EZPZ in my diaper bag to have while out to eat. It’s a must for home and eating out with little kids.
Play Kitchen: Kids are OBSESSED with play kitchens. This will be the big birthday gift and I am eyeing this one Kid Craft Play Kitchen.
Every time my kids visit a play center, they go straight for the kitchen. There always seems to be a crowd of kids opening and shutting the fridge and taking play food in and out of the oven. I have mom friends who swear by a play kitchen because it gets tons of use and lasts for years. I can’t wait for Sage to make sweet memories in her play kitchen.
Play Kitchen Accessories: What play kitchen would be complete with out accessories? I love these Melissa and Doug Stainless Steel Pots and Pans and this KidKraft Playfood Set.I tend to go a bit extreme so I will just start off with these two types of kitchen accessories.
First birthdays are so magical and memorable, especially for family members. I can’t wait to get all these special gifts for my sweet princess.
What are your favorite 1st birthday gifts?
XO,
Heather
